SUMMARY:Poschner\, Rondeau & Bruckner Orchester Linz
LOCATION:Großer Saal
DESCRIPTION:Bruckner Festival Linz 2026. Fresh Wind. Songs of nightingales\, quails and cuckoos\, a murmuring brook\, lightning and thunder\, pastoral melodies: Under the direction of Markus Poschner\, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz brings the sounds of nature into the concert hall with Beethoven's 6th Symphony "Pastoral". The nature-loving and enthusiastic walker Beethoven set to music his impressions of country life\, which ultimately combine into a magnificent hymn. The "Pastoral" stands in a long tradition: Already in Baroque music\, musical pastoral scenes were extremely popular\, which Francis Poulenc took up in his Concert champêtre (Rustic Concerto) for harpsichord and orchestra completed in 1928: a neoclassical homage to French Baroque music. Harpsichord virtuoso Jean Rondeau interprets this work that tensely oscillates between old and new\, whose pastoral mood is contrasted by Claude Debussy's La Mer\, another famous tone-painting depiction of nature in which one can practically taste the salty sea air.
