About the concert
Trumpeter Miles Davis and saxophonist John Coltrane were outstanding, style-defining soloists and bandleaders in jazz history. From 1955 to 1960, Coltrane was a member of the Miles Davis Quintet/Sextet, during which many classic jazz albums were created, including "Kind of Blue" and "'Round About Midnight". Both jazz icons would have celebrated their 100th birthday in 2026 – reason enough to dedicate a special concert program to these giants! Joe Magnarelli from New York is among the world's leading trumpeters, Kirk MacDonald from Toronto is Canada's most renowned saxophonist. Aldo Zunino has worked with Tommy Flanagan, Steve Grossman and Harry Sweets Edison, among others. In collaboration with Musikfabrik Nö.
