Album Release Show "Menschen Ohne Freunde" The pioneers of the Austrian dialect wave are releasing their new album "Menschen Ohne Freunde" in October. A record full of morbid melancholy. Personal experiences blend with observations from the city on the Danube. The sinister flirts with the romantic, biting humor is a fixed ingredient. The songs tell of transience, isolation, but also new beginnings and the brief moment of great love. Sometimes the music sounds wounded, then again cozy and light-footed, like cotton candy from the Viennese Prater wrapped up. Grumpy, morbid melancholy seems to be a foundation of the Viennese soul. And on this foundation, Die Buben Im Pelz have built their dialect rock songs for over ten years. Personal experiences blend with stories and observations from the city on the Danube, the sinister flirts with the romantic, biting humor is a fixed ingredient. After a rendezvous with songs by Lou Reed and Velvet Underground, the band returns in 2026 with their own songs. The first single "Luft" from the upcoming new album is a wistful reflection on expired love, telling of transience and new beginnings. But because we're in Vienna, the most worth-dying-for city in the world, the pensive "Luft" comes wrapped in cozy, light-footed buoyant padding.
