Mozart's "The Magic Flute" is reimagined as the "Taugl Magic Flute." A narrator guides the audience through the story: Prince Tamino sets out with the magic flute in search of Princess Pamina, accompanied by bird-catcher Papageno, challenged by the star-flaming Queen of the Night, and tested in the temple of Sarastro. Over four acts, Tamino undergoes a classic coming-of-age journey, from apprentice discovering himself, through journeyman mastering himself, to master ennobling himself, carried by friendship, love, and courage. Mozart's original music is preserved and adapted into a child-friendly, lively version of approximately two and a half hours (including intermissions). On stage, professional singers perform alongside children and young people from the region who participate in the production as part of the Taugl Children's Camp. This creates musical theater for children, families, and all those who wish to be enchanted by Mozart's timeless music.
