In the nest, wonders are born, often many wonders. In the nest on Schwindgasse, where the "Nightingales" (Slavuji) have been playing and dancing kolo for 15 years, the "Chicks" (Piplići) came into being 40 years ago. The children's folklore group was created as an offering for children and young people in the big city to learn Croatian folk dances and music, move rhythmically, and build social connections. Over the years, several Piplići members also moved to Kolo Slavuj; thus the Piplići are indeed an integral part of the 55-year history of the folklore ensemble Kolo Slavuj. They progressed from the circle of the small to the kolo, the circle of the great. Yet history shows us that much has also emerged from within the ensemble itself: all choreographies of this anniversary program come, so to speak, from the same nest, namely from the pen of a Kolo Slavuj member. This ranges from Rudi "Štiks" Stefanich's Bunjevci-Kolo to the choreographies by Jelena and Filip Tyran, right through to Stefan Novak's women's choreography. From kolo to kolo – for kolo, for the Piplići and Slavuji. After that, the Gauženjaki will perform.
