Musical by Gerome Ragni, James Rado and Galt MacDermot Following the celebrated success of Cabaret, Kulturwolke returns to the stage at Quartier Wolkersdorf with the next major musical event – showcasing pure freedom, energy and zeitgeist: Hair. "My hair like Jesus wore it, Hallelujah, I adore it!" – few musicals have embedded themselves as deeply in the collective memory as Hair, the legendary American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. With rousing rock music, radical life philosophy and unbridled lust for change, it became the symbol of an entire generation in the late 1960s – and simultaneously a scandal piece and Broadway worldwide success. Whether "Aquarius", "Let the Sunshine In", "Good Morning Starshine", "Easy to Be Hard" or the title song "Hair" – Galt MacDermot's songs are now pop and musical history. Not least, Miloš Forman's famous film adaptation made the work immortal worldwide. Themes such as pacifism, civil rights, sexual self-determination, protest against the Vietnam War and the breaking down of entrenched social structures are more relevant than ever today. Following the sold-out and highly praised Cabaret, Elisabeth Heller and Oliver Timpe once again demonstrate their signature as creative driving forces of Kulturwolke. Their production of Hair promises no nostalgic museum theatre, but a passionate, powerful plea for humanity, diversity and freedom. Hair in Wolkersdorf: More than a musical. It is a lifestyle. An invitation to remember – and simultaneously to look forward. Note: The performance will be in German language with English song lyrics / recommended from age 14.
