With "Nora or A Doll's House," Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen created one of the most significant modern theatrical works in 1879. What was once considered scandalous – a woman questioning her role as wife and mother and finding the courage to take her life into her own hands – is now counted among the milestones of theater history. Yet Ibsen's drama is far more than a piece about emancipation: it poses timeless questions about freedom, identity, truth, and the expectations that society and relationships place on the individual.
