SPK are an influential Australian industrial band. The acronym SPK was interpreted differently by the band with almost every release: System Planning Corporation, Surgical Penis Clinic, Seppuku, or Socialist Patients' Collective. The band now exists as SKPtR (pronounced Spectre). Founded in 1978 in Sydney by Graeme Revell, who worked as a nurse in a psychiatric clinic, Neil Hill, an ambulatory schizophrenia patient from that clinic, and Sinan, Graeme Revell's later wife. Their early releases, up to Leichenschrei, are predominantly disturbing, monotonous, noisy sound collages layered with voices and screams. Content from this phase often revolves around mental and physical illness, death, and human decay. They published their subversive, nihilistic philosophy in radical manifestos as inserts with their albums. Later, the band turned to both synthpop and dark ambient music. Since 2025, the band is active again. SPK will play a raw, confrontational industrial set in Vienna. Robert Revell is the son of SPK founder Graeme Revell.
