DESCRIPTION:Uchronie - "Non-Time"\; the time that never happened. UCHRONIA opens a window to possible musical worlds in non-existent times. Two compositional formations emerging from hypothetical historical divergences – Monkpunk and HyperRhythmicon – inscribe themselves into St. Stephen's Cathedral for the duration of the performance\, transforming it into a resonant body of decolonial speculations. The Gregorian choir and the giant organ form the sonic core of the work. Synthesizer and electronic organ sounds\, techno-pulsing drum machines\, Afro-Caribbean drum culture\, and voice-modulated with autotune coexist with the cathedral's historic sound bodies. The audience moves through different listening perspectives – walking\, sitting\, lying down – between monumental overall sound and intimate situations in side aisles and chapels. This creates a choreographic composition that invites different forms of participation and listening.
