After six assassination attempts on her life\, she is appointed Brazil's first Secretary of State for Indigenous Rights. By her side stands her husband Hugo Loss\, who as operations director of Brazil's environmental agency IBAMA conducts dangerous raids against illegal gold mines deep in the Amazon. When Juma discovers she is pregnant\, her fight takes on a new personal dimension.
