Ars Electronica is one of the world's largest stages for media art, a festival for digital music, a marketplace for creativity and innovation, and a playground for the next generation – Ars Electronica is a globally unique festival for art, technology, and society. Festival for Art, Technology and Society September 9–13, 2026. In year 1 after POSTCITY, the Ars Electronica Festival reinvents itself. Instead of a central festival venue, the five-day event will turn Linz city center into both a stage and forum for art, technology, and society. Three major hubs and a range of additional event locations will be activated and new formats developed. Thematically, the festival dedicates itself to the year's focus "The Future Begins," while adding the subtitle "Negotiating Humanity." At its core, it's about taking stock and asking what it means to be human today.
