FARCE is the alias of German producer, songwriter and performer Veronika J. König, who has been based in Vienna since 2015. Emerging from punk and black metal, FARCE developed a distinctive electronic pop aesthetic blending noise, autotune, industrial beats and avant-garde songwriting. Early releases and live shows in Vienna's DIY scene earned her FM4 airplay and established her as a distinctive voice in the Austrian underground. Her debut album Heavy Listening (2018) garnered international attention, leading to performances at festivals including Popfest Wien, donaufestival Krems and Hyperreality. She followed with the EP Trauma Bounce (2020), whose single Déjà Vu topped the FM4 charts, and the album Not To Regress (2022), further deepening her uncompromising fusion of emotionality, theatricality and experimental pop. Her new album The Label, coming in June 2026, continues this approach. FARCE approaches pop less as a genre than as a structure that can be shifted, deconstructed and reorganized. Combining clinically precise synthesizers, deep industrial beats and fragmented guitar textures, her songs explore questions of visibility, identity and presence. Queerness functions not merely as subject matter but as a structural method: decentering rather than dominance, proximity rather than hierarchy. Beyond her solo work, FARCE also produces and composes for artists including Sophia Blenda, Pandora Nox and Mavi Phoenix, as well as for film, TV and theater productions. She has headlined tours across Europe and Britain, supported acts including Ja, Panik and Edwin Rosen, and performed at The Great Escape, Primavera Sound, Hyperreality and Arena Wien.
