The Samsongruppe Tamsweg organizes Samson processions, a summer tradition from the Salzburg Lungau region in which a 5.8-meter-tall and 113.8-kilogram-heavy giant figure is carried on the shoulders of a single man and danced in waltz fashion. The procession is accompanied by the Tamsweg town band and escorted by two dwarf figures; the Samson men are a group of young Tamsweg men who maintain and preserve this approximately 300-year-old custom.
