About the concert
When the Organ Becomes an Orchestra Cathedral Organist Gerhard Raab opens Organ Summer 2026 with a homage to Paris – the city that became the center of symphonic organ music at the turn of the 20th century. Sound spectacle and poetry, colorful brilliance and virtuosity: works by Alfred Hollins, Louis Vierne, Charles-Marie Widor, Camille Saint-Saëns and Joseph Bonnet lead us into that golden age of Paris, when the organ became a full orchestra.
