APRIL VERCH & Cody Walters (CAN/USA) In the duo APRIL VERCH & CODY WALTERS, Canadian roots, American Old-time, 1950s Country, and Scottish & Scandinavian folk blend into a delicate melange! When I first saw APRIL VERCH at the "Celtic Colours" festival in 2015, I was so thrilled I was practically knocked off my feet by her performance. Outstanding violin playing, excellent vocals, and her truly world-championship-level step dance technique—she masterfully combines them into a breathtaking show! She is one of the best Canadian fiddlers in the "Oldtime Style," World Champion in "Ottawa Valley" step dancing, and composes beautiful songs to boot. Since her debut album "Springtime Fiddle" in 1992, she has released 15 more albums and has been signed to the cult label Rounder Records since 2000. April Verch is especially known for her passion for blending folk and country, which she also pursues excellently with her April Verch Band. She is also highly respected in the American bluegrass scene. There she successfully collaborates with legendary Joe Newberry in a cult duo! For the 19th SCOTTISH COLOURS, she comes with her husband, American Old-time & Bluegrass multi-instrumentalist CODY WALTERS from Kansas.
