Chet Faker: A Love For Strangers Tour
This event is over.
Australian-born, New York-based Nick Murphy loves experimenting with genre blends and artist names, dancing as a songwriter through future beat, hip-hop, funk, electro and modern soul—always smooth and with excellent grounding. In 2011, he scored big with a cover of the Backstreet Boys hit "No Diggity". In 2012, the EP "Thinking in Textures" brought his cool, understated electro sound to the fore, and in 2014 came "Built on Glass", his celebrated electro-soul debut album that established him as a first-class artist and earned numerous ARIA Awards. In the years that followed, he expanded his highly regarded musical catalogue and toured worldwide with sold-out headline shows and performances at venues like Coachella, Lollapalooza and many others. "A Love For Strangers", his current first album as Chet Faker in four years, takes his established sound in exciting new directions: featuring moonlit saxophones evoking legendary acts like Prefab Sprout and The Blue Nile, alongside the lush, breakbeat-driven pop of David Gray's classic "White Ladder". In twelve fresh songs, Murphy reflects on heartbreak and insecurity on a grand scale—questioning how we treat each other, examining where we fail, and conveying the necessary sense of hope when it comes to repairing our relationships with the world around us. Now let it be, says Chet Faker's flow. And it carries you live into warm, sunny spheres. Linz AG FrischLuft Stage Open Air.
