ROCKTURBINE
Two steampunk pilots, 6 instruments, a saddlebag full of self-penned songs – only a fitting category seems never at hand. Herr Rogl (blues harmonica, banjo, bouzouki, drums and vocals) and Dr. Snowshoe Pink (horn orchestra, electric bass and unconventional vocals) rock even the most hardened ear with an unusual style mix that inspires anything – except sitting still or staying serious. Since the themes of love, heartache and the beauty of one's homeland have been sung about extensively, the Chopstick Jacksons instead focus on the concretely opaque depths of the human soul and similarly strange creatures. Bittersweet ballads are broken up by raw circus music. Lonely, dreamy cowboy melodies ride the relentless pulse of post-industrial techno into the sunset. And then, in the only felt familiarity of the unavoidable inner twilight, all gloom is blown away with a bicycle horn.
