About the exhibition
"Politics of Visibility. Pleas of Resistance marks the first major European museum exhibition to comprehensively showcase Motta's artistic development. It brings together more than twenty-five years of artistic practice and combines early photographic self-portraits with recent video performances and installations across four interconnected chapters. These chapters explore pre-Hispanic homoeroticism, the politics of care as a space of queer liberation, acts of self-determination beyond the human, and the telling of silenced stories as a practice of sharing, mutual nourishment, and resistance."
