About the exhibition
The exhibition "Capsicum – The World of Chili and Paprika" offers a compact insight into the botany, history, and culinary diversity of the Capsicum genus. It shows how wild chilis from Central and South America developed into paprika, pepperoni, and countless chili varieties through thousands of years of cultivation, and illustrates their "triumphal march" around the world. In addition to fascinating cultural-historical aspects, the exhibition also explores the use of chili in the kitchen and, of course, the effects of capsaicin, which gives chili its heat. Sat 09.05. to Sun 01.11. in the Botanical Garden (outdoor area). Cost: botanical garden admission only.
