Giorgio Conte is not to be confused with his brother Paolo. While Paolo loves the grand gesture, Giorgio convinces with subtle understatement. A quiet storyteller, a poet with dry self-irony. His songs seem casual yet are precisely crafted, full of imagery, small stories and elegant punchlines. Growing up in Asti in Piedmont, shaped by chanson, jazz and Italian folk music, he initially writes songs together with his brother while working as a lawyer. For a long time he leads this double life between law practice and stage, composing songs for colleagues like Mina, Milva and Ornella Vanoni, and performing regularly himself. It's not until the early 1990s that he commits fully to music. Since then, Giorgio Conte has cultivated his distinctive style between Italian chanson, swing and jazz. His songs tell of travelers, everyday observations and quiet absurdities, with nostalgia, irony and warmth. On stage he seeks closeness with the audience, accompanied by a finely tuned band that leaves plenty of room for spontaneous moments. An evening full of charm, humor and relaxed poetry. Giorgio Conte – vocals, guitar, Bati Bertolio – accordion, Alberto Barone – drums, vocal bass.
