About the exhibition
Art from Mexico and Upper Austria The KUNSTSAMMLUNG presents the results of a collaboration with Mexican guest curator Misael Becerril in the exhibition CUAUHXIMA | WOODCUT. His project IMPORTEXPORT MX/AT promotes artistic exchange between Mexico and Austria on a sustained basis. CUAUHXIMA | WOODCUT connects artists from Mexico and Upper Austria and explores one of the oldest handcraft printing techniques – woodcut – and its place in contemporary contexts. The exhibition title references "Cuauhxima," the word for "woodcut" in Nahuatl, the most widely spoken indigenous language in Mexico. 2nd floor // the KUNSTSAMMLUNG // Art Space Opening June 30, 2026 from 6:30 p.m., on view until July 31, 2026
