In this new section of the collection exhibition, artworks, ethnographic objects, and other rare documents bear witness equally to the people of Linz, their traditions, and special events. This includes the ever-changing cityscape, mobility, urban life, artistic creation, outstanding personalities, historical events, and designations such as "Führer City"—the only one in Austria during the Nazi dictatorship. As an industrial stronghold, the exhibition also focuses on economy and labor. Ultimately, the question remains: What is typically Linz? To vividly convey the various focal points, new access forms such as augmented reality are employed, and throughout their visit, visitors repeatedly encounter two fictional museum inhabitants: the City Muse and the Court Councillor.
