At the "Contemporary History Museum," voestalpine commemorates the forced laborers of the Reichswerke Hermann Göring in Linz. The museum is a living place of remembrance and active engagement with a dark chapter in Austrian contemporary history. The focus is on the forced laborers of the Reichswerke Hermann Göring in Linz — their fates and life stories. The Hermann Göring Works shaped Linz architecturally and economically. They fundamentally altered the city's social fabric. The traces left in public spaces remain visible today. However, the impact on the victims of that time, the coercive nature, and the extent of forced labor were long suppressed and are barely present in public consciousness. Changing this is a central concern of this museum.
