"Maria Ma has created a musical jewel with her way of playing the hackbrett – she achieves music with magical effect." (Norbert Pleifer, Treibhaus Innsbruck) With her overtone-rich instrument, the hackbrett, Maria Ma has developed a uniquely virtuosic playing style. The sound of this ancient instrument, traditionally associated with Alpine folk music but originally from the Persian region, captivates audiences. Together with her ensemble, she combines floating soundscapes with earthy rhythms and lets musical roots shine through again and again. Her atmospherically dense compositions move effortlessly between pop, jazz, and Alpine world music. Her artistic versatility has led her, among other things, to Gert Steinbäcker's band, with which she has performed since 2016. Her debut album was produced by Christian Kolonovits; her discography now includes four studio albums. With MARIA MA pure, she has performed at venues including Porgy & Bess, the Vienna Concert Hall, and stages throughout Austria. Maria Ma – hackbrett, vocals; Christian Einheller – percussion; Thomas Hechenberger – guitar; Mischa Krausz – bass https://www.maria-ma.com/
