John Jones arrives with new songs, old friends, and the very reassuring news that music apparently isn't retiring after all. He became known as the voice of Oysterband, one of the longest-lasting and most influential folk/roots/rock bands of Great Britain. Stylistically, the group found their own place between folk, punk and rock – and consistently defended it. After over 20 albums, countless tours, festivals from Glastonbury to Tønder, and plenty of awards, the band officially bid farewell in 2023 with their "Long Goodbye" tour. That's the theory. But in 2026, it continues. Together with Ray Cooper (also known as Chopper) and producer/guitarist Al Scott, John brings songs from all phases of his life: Oysterband classics, solo material, new pieces, and traditional songs that are probably older than any "band history". All in changing line-ups, with plenty of instruments and even more experience. "The Song Goes On" is the name of the tour – and that's exactly how it feels: no big comeback drama, just carrying on. John Jones - vocals, melodeon, Ray Cooper - cello, piano, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, vocals, Al Scott - guitar, mandolin, vocals https://www.johnjonestrio.org/home
