The exhibition at Urnenhain Urfahr explores cremation and its long struggle for political and ecclesiastical acceptance. The new permanent exhibition in the historic crematorium was created in collaboration with curator Georg Wilbertz and designer Hans Kropshofer. LINZ AG FRIEDHÖFE presents an exhibition showcasing the development of cremation, its various positions and key figures, contextualized within Linz and Upper Austrian history. The exhibition also illustrates cremation's current significance and practice. The historic crematorium building, designed by Julius Schulte and whose artistic importance is not yet widely recognized, becomes an important exhibit in itself.
